Buyer sought for “Habs Hotel”
June 13, 2012. 6:06 pm • Section: Real Deal
MONTREAL, QUE. : SEPTEMBER 1 , 2011--The parking lot facing the Bell Centre, adjacent to Les Canadiens avenue between Drummond and Mountain Sts. is to become a mixed hotel and residential project (Marie-France Coallier) / THE GAZETTE)
Maybe they’ll call it the Habs Hotel?
As you can see in this new brochure, commercial real estate firm CBRE Ltd. is looking for a major banner to buy the 100 to 150 room hotel section of a new downtown hotel/condo project near Montreal’s Bell Centre.
The project, which would have 4,500 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant, lounge, swimming pool and fitness centre, is being built by Broccolini Construction Inc. with backing from Carttera Private Equities Inc.
The number of condo units isn’t specified for the project, to be completed by winter 2015.
The project, which has the zoning to go up to 50 storeys, has frontage on Avenue des Canadiens, Drummond and Mountain Sts.
The brochure ends speculation over the use of the 32,000 square foot, L-shaped site purchased by Broccolini and Carttera in January for $14.1 million.
The Broccolini project is one of several new residential developments announced for sites near the Bell Centre, including the 38-storey, 379-unit Tour Icône condo project on Mountain St, north of René Lévesque Blvd., and the 35-storey, twin tower Roccabella project with 516 condos, on Mountain St. just south of René Lévesque.
