I am not questioning democracy and it's need... only the respect of it in Canada vs. the Conservatives and the other guys.
Example just a couple of months ago with the gun-registry bill. MP's should be able to vote freely on any bill as they are representing their constituents and not be whipped by the party uppers, and at least this was respected in regards to private member's bills. When free votes were held on the gun registry bill, it passed on the first two readings, on the last, Ignatieff forced all Liberal members to vote against it, against the wishes of the people who voted those members into Parliament. That was a gross violation of democracy, going directly against the wishes of Canadian voters... far more in excess than silly excuses made to MP's in regards to a scribble on a paper (which, in respect of democracy, Ms. Oda had the full right to do, as she is the democratically-elected representative of Canadians and not the appointed bureaucrats who made that recommendation - she should have simply told Parliament that straight up)
So live this day that you can look every damn man straight in the eye and tell him to go to hell.
